We think that long-term progress comes from making responsible choices part of everyday business operations. That is why we continuously review how selected activities, from reusable crate washing to transport and resource management, can be delivered efficiently and responsibly.
Selected initiatives and measurable developments across our operations
Circular Economy
- Reusable Packaging: Washing and maintenance of crates, cups, airport trays, automotive transport trays and other reusable assets.
- Pallets: Refurbishment of wooden pallets.
- Furniture: Logistics and refurbishment for circular furniture projects.
Water & Energy Efficiency
Efficient resource management is an important part of our operations. We continuously monitor water and electricity consumption across our crate washing operations and use this data to identify opportunities for operational improvement. In 2025, we reduced electricity consumption intensity by 3% and water consumption intensity by 9% compared with 2024 (intensity = total consumption per 1000 washed crates).

HVO Fuel
Since April 2025, WELL PACK has used HVO100 on selected domestic transport routes in the Czech Republic. HVO100 is an alternative fuel made from renewable raw materials, including used cooking oil and waste fats, and can be used in compatible diesel vehicles without changing everyday transport operations.
Supplier records document more than 44,000 litres of HVO100 purchased between April 2025 and June 2026. Two trucks accounted for most of this volume. The programme provides practical experience with alternative fuels in everyday transport operations, although the higher cost of HVO100 currently limits wider deployment.
Quality, Safety & Responsible Operations
Quality, safety and responsible operations are an integral part of how we work. Our management systems and operational standards support consistent quality, environmental management, workplace safety and food safety across relevant WELL PACK operations:
- ISO 9001: All crate washing operations (Austria, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania)
- ISO 14001: Crate washing operation in Romania
- ISO 22000: Crate washing operations in Austria, Greece and Romania
- ISO 45001: All crate washing operations (Austria, Czechia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania)
- HACCP food safety system: Crate washing operations in Czechia, Hungary and Poland
Mobile Washing & Wastewater Management
During mobile washing operations, wash water is collected and treated in a dedicated mobile wastewater treatment unit before discharge. Treated water quality is verified through regular analyses by accredited laboratories and must meet applicable sewer discharge requirements. Sludge generated by the process is collected and removed by authorised waste-management contractors.
Our mobile washing services use biodegradable cleaning products.
