A season opener to remember:
With an impressive 50:14 victory against the Vienna Vikings, the HUSKIES Wels kicked off the new season in dominant fashion. But it wasn’t just a strong performance on the field – behind the scenes, a clear statement was made about how modern event logistics should work today.
For the first time, the HUSKIES deployed a fully integrated reusable system by Well Pack and its subsidiary The Cup Cleaners during a game day.
What seems simple for visitors – enjoying drinks in reusable cups – is in reality a precisely coordinated logistics cycle.
At Well Pack, together with The Cup Cleaners, we manage the entire process:
The goal: a system that works seamlessly – even under real event conditions with thousands of visitors.
Large-scale events are the true test of whether sustainability can actually scale.
At HUSKIES Wels game days, up to 5,000 cups are in use – a powerful example of circular economy in action.
The results at the season opener:
For us, this is what matters most:
Not just delivering concepts, but building systems that perform in real operations.
And most importantly: there is still more to come.
Our collaboration with HUSKIES Wels goes beyond a traditional client relationship. It is built on a shared understanding:
The club’s conscious decision to host Green Events highlights how seriously sustainability is now being taken in sports.
The season opener was also a valuable opportunity for personal exchange. Conversations with key stakeholders, partners, and representatives from business and organizations once again confirmed: The demand for professional, sustainable event solutions is growing and circular systems are becoming a key component of future events!
The successful kickoff in Wels marks an important milestone for us – and at the same time, a starting point for what’s next.
Our ambition remains clear:
Circular logistics that are not only planned, but truly lived.¨
A reusable cup system is a circular solution where cups are used multiple times instead of being discarded after one use. At events like HUSKIES Wels, cups are collected, professionally cleaned, and redistributed, creating a closed-loop logistics system with minimal waste.
Reusable cup logistics includes delivery of clean cups to the venue, distribution during the event, collection after use, transport to cleaning facilities, industrial washing and quality control, and reuse at the next event. This process ensures hygiene, efficiency, and sustainability even at large-scale events.
Reusable cups significantly reduce waste and environmental impact. Instead of generating thousands of disposable cups per event, one reusable cup can be used dozens or even hundreds of times. This lowers CO2 emissions, waste management costs, and plastic pollution.
Depending on the material and handling, reusable cups can typically be reused 50–100+ times. With proper industrial cleaning and logistics, their lifecycle is long enough to create a strong environmental and economic advantage.
Reusable systems are not limited to sports. They are widely used in festivals and concerts, stadiums and arenas, corporate events, catering and hospitality, and large public events.
Yes. Reusable cups are cleaned using industrial washing systems that meet strict hygiene standards. These processes ensure that every cup is safe for reuse, comparable to standards used in the food and beverage industry.
Implementing a reusable cup system requires planning demand, organizing logistics for delivery and collection, ensuring cleaning capacity, and setting up return processes at the venue. Working with a professional logistics partner ensures the system runs smoothly and efficiently even at large-scale events.
The cost of a reusable cup system depends on event size, number of cups, logistics complexity, and cleaning requirements. While initial costs may be higher than single-use solutions, reusable systems often reduce long-term expenses through lower waste management costs and repeated use.
